Tomaso Montanari

Tomaso Montanari, art historian, is Rector of the University for Foreigners of Siena, where he is Professor of History of Modern Art. A member of the scientific committee of the Uffizi Gallery, he is in the editorial board of the scientific journal Prospettiva. He has written for Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Corriere Fiorentino, Repubblica, Fatto Quotidiano and Huffington Post. From 2017 to 2019 he was president of the Libertà e Giustizia association. For television he conceived or presented several programs, including La libertà di Bernini (2015), La vera natura di Caravaggio (2016) and L'ombra della vita (2018-19), all for RAI 5. He won the Giorgio Bassani Award (2012), while in 2013 he was appointed Commander by the President of the Republic.
