Wolfgang Blau is the global Chief Operating Officer of Condé Nast and President of Condé Nast International with responsibility for the company's print and digital portfolio and new businesses in China, Japan, Taiwan, Russia, India, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Mexico as well as license relationships in 16 countries. Globally, he oversees Product & Technology, Data & Insight, Business Development, Brand Licensing, Business Transformation & Delivery, as well as Global Editorial Operations.

Prior to becoming President of Condé Nast International, Wolfgang was the company’s Chief Digital Officer where he initiated and managed a change of the company’s internal operating model across Asia, Europe and Latin-America towards forming the world's most influential network of fashion and lifestyle publishing companies.

Before joining Condé Nast International, he was the Executive Director of Digital Strategy for The Guardian, reporting to the Guardian’s CEO Andrew Miller and then-Editor-in-Chief, Alan Rusbridger, and had the editorial lead for relaunching the websites and digital tools for the Guardian’s American, British and Australian operations, as well as for re-positioning The Guardian editorially as a breaking news organisation.

Before joining The Guardian, Wolfgang served for five years as Editor-in-Chief of Zeit Online in Berlin, the digital sister of Germany's DIE ZEIT, oversaw Zeit Online’s product development team and was part of DIE ZEIT's management team. Wolfgang started his career as a radio news anchor, news editor and newsroom manager and then spent seven years in the San Francisco Bay Area as a freelance Silicon Valley reporter for Germany’s national public broadcaster ZDF and the nationwide newspaper DIE WELT.
