Doug Mitchell is the Founder and Director of a partnership between NPR, NPR member stations, colleges and universities around the United States. The program (Next Generation Radio) is a digital first, multimedia training project targeting competitively selected college students and early-career professionals who have an interest in the depth of journalism and narrative storytelling that is the hallmark of public media. Doug also leads a new initiative through the Online News Association called the Journalism Mentorship Collaborative and is a board member of the Latino Public Radio Consortium and Center for Collaborative Journalism as well as a long time peer reviewer for the Fulbright program.
