Martina Hilbertová has been an analyst at Transparency International Slovakia since July 2023. After studying musicology at Comenius University, she worked as a cultural reporter at the Press Agency of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Press Office. Later, at the SME daily newspaper, she focused mainly on municipal politics in the capital city, Bratislava. In recent years, she has also been involved in collecting testimonies from witnesses of undemocratic regimes for Post Bellum Slovakia. In 2022, with the support of the Fund for Investigative Journalism, she highlighted financial flows of municipal companies in Bratislava. Currently, at Transparency International Slovakia, she is primarily involved in monitoring the transparency of elections and pre-election campaigns, analysing the level of local journalism in Slovakia, and pointing out the harmfulness of disinformation on the rule of law.
