Adele Irianni

Antarctic Project ENEA

Adele Irianni is communications director of the Italian ENEA Antarctic Project.

She had the opportunity in 2001 to experience fully the Antarctic when she, with the XVII Italian expedition, passed the 60th parallel and stayed at the French-Italian Concordia station on the ice plateau at 3,300m above sea level.

One project she has developed, aimed at schoolchildren of all ages, is Adopt a School from Antarctica, offering the possibility to teachers and pupils to be adopted by a participant in the expedition and connect with him/her and other researchers by skype link. There are about 50 schools participating in the current Antarctic campaign.
