Cécile Kyenge is a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, elected in the 2013 elections for the Partito Democratico. She was Minister for Integration in the government of Enrico Letta until February 2014. She is president of the intercultural association DAWA and a member of the board of the Istituto Italiano Fernando Santi. She contributes to Corriere Immigrazione and to the magazine Combonifem.
