Costanza Maio was born in Italy and raised in the US. She is a 22-year-old undergraduate senior at New York University, majoring in Global Liberal Studies and minoring in Arabic. While studying abroad in Abu Dhabi during her junior year, she interned at the CNN International bureau there and reported for The Gazelle, the first independent, student-run newspaper in the UAE.
