Hala Droubi is a Syrian journalist. She studied psychology at The American University in Beirut and did her Masters in print journalism at Columbia University. She was part of The New York Times team in Beirut covering the war in Syria, and has taught at the media department of the American University in Dubai. She is currently the director of The Counter Academy for Arab Journalism, a one-year fellowship program that encourages creativity and critical thinking in journalism.
