Salma Haidrani is a London-based award-winning freelance writer and journalist. Salma won in the Features category at the End Violence Against Women Awards in November 2016 for her work on so-called honour killings on British soil. She also won Best Online Blog at the Asian Media Awards in 2013 and was shortlisted for the Award for Outstanding Online Commentary at the CIPR Journalism Awards 2013. Her writing appeared in a number of newspapers and magazines across the UK and the USA including VICE, Refinery29, The Debrief, Time Out London, The Independent and The Daily Telegraph. She has a particular interest in women’s rights, sexuality and social issues.
