Sara Afshar is a journalist and documentary filmmaker with over 20 years of experience. She has worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and The Guardian. Her documentary, Syria's Disappeared: The Case Against Assad won the British Journalism Award 2017 for Investigation of the Year, and was nominated for a BAFTA. She is the founder of the independent production company Afshar Films.
She is the author of the 27 August 2018 article in The Guardian entitled Assad’s Syria recorded its own atrocities. The world can’t ignore them.
