Simona Bondanza

singer

Simona Bondanza is one of the most interesting Italian voices in jazz. Born and raised in Genoa, she has composed her jazz repertoire Kabarett, songs and folk ballads with elegant taste and stimulating literary references. She prefers uncommon singing contexts, situations that may be the "musical punctuation" of literary meetings and conferences or special recitals: such as a tribute to Gino Paoli, as happened on the stage of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa with Enrico Rava and Dado Moroni, or meetings on the "imaginary islands" of Ernesto Franco, in a duet with Piero Leveratto. Particularly interesting is her research into the German repertoire of the 1920s and 30s, reworking the extraordinary experience of German song at that time.
