Tom Standage is deputy editor and head of digital strategy of The Economist. Since 2010 he has been responsible for The Economist's output and editorial strategy on digital platforms: Economist.com, apps, e-readers, multimedia, social and so forth. He was previously Business Affairs Editor, running the back half of the magazine, and before that Business Editor, Technology Editor and Science Correspondent. He edited the Technology Quarterly supplement, on emerging technologies, for a decade from 2003. His most recent project was conceiving and setting up the Espresso daily news app.
