Tomaso Clavarino is an Italian freelance photographer, He works for several newspapers, magazines and media outlets such as Newsweek, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, VICE, El Pais, focusing his work on human rights, on the aftermaths of conflicts and on social issues. In parallel with his work for media outlets, he also pursues more personal and intimate projects that have been exhibited in several art galleries. He was one of the finalists in the Young Reporter category for the 20th edition of the Prix Bayeux Calvados for War Correspondents in 2013 and a grantee from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in Washington DC. In 2015 and 2016 he also received grants from the IDR Grant programme of the European Journalism Center for two multimedia projects: Invisible Killer and With Bare Hands.
