Veronica De Romanis

economist and author

Veronica De Romanis studied economics at the La Sapienza University in Rome and at Columbia University in New York. She was a Member of the Council of Economic Advisors at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance for over ten years, focusing on macroeconomics and public finance. She was also in charge of the interaction with Eurostat, the European Commission, the OECD and the IMF. She currently lectures on European economic policy issues at Stanford University (The Breyer Center for Overseas Studies) in Florence, the European University in Rome and the LUISS University in Rome. She writes op-ed comments in several journals, newspapers and web sites. Since April 2015, she has been an Independent Member of the Board of Directors, of the Compensation Committee and of the Risks Committee of Cementir Holding Spa in Rome.

She is the author of Il Metodo Merkel (2009, Marsilio editori) and Il Caso Germania (2013, Marsilio editori).
