Adriano Farano is CEO and founder at Pactio, a newly created crowdfunding platform for journalists. Prior to Pactio, Farano was Head of Content at Plex, a personal media service, which also provides a personalized video news offering thanks to the acquisition of Watchup, a startup that Farano had founded in 2012. Prior to Watchup, Adriano was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Stanford startup accelerator StartX and a 2011 Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford, where he researched innovative ways to augment the news experience on mobile and tablet. He started his career as a journalist, writing for Le Figaro and other outlets in Paris before cofounding CafeBabel.com, a pan-European online magazine. Adriano lives in Menlo Park, California.
