Caterina Froio is Assistant Professor in Political Science at Sciences Po, Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE). She is also an affiliate researcher to the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX; University of Oslo).

Caterina’s research interests are broadly in European politics, with a special emphasis on political parties, right-wing extremism, radicalism and populism, and e-politics. Since 2016 she has been joint convenor of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Standing Group on Extremism & Democracy.

She is the author of CasaPound Italia. Contemporary extreme right politics, written with Pietro Castelli Gattinara, Giorgia Bulli and Matteo Albanese (Routledge, 2020) and Fascisti di un altro Millennio?  (Bonanno, 2015) and numerous articles on far-right parties and social movements. Her work has been published in Comparative European Politics, Perspectives on Politics, and Party Politics among others. She is an editor of the Routledge series on Extremism and Democracy.
