Claudio Martelli is a politician, journalist and television presenter. In 2010 he set up the Lookout webtv project, which focuses on the relationships between Italians and foreigners. Two newsrooms, one in Rome and one in Milan, deal with issues of significance for refugees, immigrants, young Italians and second generation citizens of non-Italian origin. He was a highly visibile Italian politician from 1976 to 2005, mainly in the PSI party, and served as Minister of Justice from 1991 to 1993. In 2005 he left politics for good to begin a second career as a television presenter, initially for Mediaset with Claudo Martelli racconta on Channel 5. He presented a number of other TV shows, including L’incudine, Flash backand Il libro della Repubblica. He has also presented the radio programmes Alle 8 della seraand Quell’estate del ’92 on RAI Radio 2.
