Diane Kemp

Birmingham City University

Diane Kemp is Professor of Broadcast Journalism at Birmingham City University (BCU), UK. She's also the Director of the Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity at BCU, which launched in March 2020 to enable the industry to achieve better representation.

Diane was previously deputy chair of the Broadcast Journalism Training Council which sets training standards on over 60 courses in the UK and has been a consultant for the Council of Europe on diversity and inclusion in journalism. Before joining academia she worked in radio and TV for 11 years.
