Eve Fairbanks, a journalist based in Johannesburg, South Africa, writes about change, digging into the motivations of people who radically alter their social or political identities. A graduate of Yale in political philosophy and a former staff writer for The New Republic, Eve’s reported essays frequently appear in The Guardian Long Reads and the Huffington Post, among other outlets.
