Gianni Valenti is deputy editor vicario of the leading Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport. He was senior national and international news editor of the Italian daily Corriere della Sera from 1990 to 2007. He oversaw the Gazzetta transformation to the current tabloid format in full colour in 2008 and has in-depth international experience on the new techniques of news presentation in the internet age. He is the only Italian journalist on the board of the World Editors Forum. He is a visiting lecturer in journalism at the Università Statale in Milan.
