Juliane von Reppert-Bismarck is the founder and CEO of Lie Detectors, an award-winning journalist-led news-literacy campaign addressing disinformation and media bias among schoolchildren and their teachers in Europe. She directs Lie Detectors’ development and strategy as well as its advocacy. Lie Detectors advises the European Commission on matters of media literacy and disinformation, notably as a member of the High Level Expert Group on Digital Disinformation and Fake News, and has advised politicians and lawmakers in Europe. It was awarded the 2018 Digital Skills Award for its pan-European work in education.

An award-winning journalist, Juliane previously wrote for MLex, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Newsweek, Der Spiegel and the Toronto Globe and Mail and others, reporting mainly from Europe and the US as well as from the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa and the Arctic. She is an alumnus of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York.
