Mariana Della Barba is the editor of Repórter Brasil, a nonprofit newsroom based in São Paulo that investigates human rights violations and threats to the environment. Previously, she worked for BBC News Brasil, O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper and other Brazilian outlets.

Mariana has been awarded fellowships for her stories on women's rights and maternity, such as attending the Dart Center reporting institute on Early Childhood Experience at Columbia University in the US, and covering the Women Deliver conference in Copenhagen. Her story for BBC on how Brazil had the highest rate of caesarean sections in the world received an award from ICFJ (International Center for Journalists). As a freelancer, she received grants to cover indigenous children's health and the measles outbreak. She is also a proud mother of two and co-founder of Política é a Mãe - a grassroots movement to discuss and encourage mothers' participation in politics.
