Sara Manisera is a freelance journalist with a degree in Political Science, with a thesis on the exploitation of migrants in agriculture in Calabria. She also has an MA in Relations of the Arab and Mediterranean world. She lived in Beirut from 2014 to 2017. She writes on women, conflicts and civil society in the Middle East, working mainly in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Tunisia. She has produced reportages for national and international newspapers on the struggle of Tunisian mothers in the search for lost children at sea, on the offensives on Mosul and Raqqa, and on the wives of the fighters of the Islamic State.
