Thierry Vissol is special advisor for media and communications at the delegation of the European Commission in Italy. He served as advisor on the audio-visual strategy of the European Commission from 2003 to 2009, where he played a key role in setting up the pan-European radio network Euranet and the European news website Presseurop. He has published widely on this subject, including the book Is there a case for an EU television station? (2006).
