Alinda Vermeer is the CEO of Media Defence, a London-based international NGO that provides legal defence to journalists around the world. Media Defence currently work in over 60 countries, providing emergency financial and technical legal support to individual journalists, pursuing strategic litigation, and providing grants to partner organisations to develop national media defence centres. Alinda is a qualified lawyer, admitted to the bar in the Netherlands, and has experience representing journalists at international and regional human rights forums.
