Nancy Porsia

Nancy Porsia is a freelance journalist and producer specialised in the Middle East and North Africa. She contributes to a variety of newspapers and radio and TV broadcasters, including in Italy RAI, SkyTG24, Il Fatto Quotidiano, La Repubblica, L’Espresso and Radio 24, and internationally ARTE, ARD, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Middle East Eye, IRIN, Xinhua News Agency, La Vanguardia and RSI. The only Italian journalist based in Libya since the end of the revolution, she has covered the civil war there.

An expert on the topic of migration, she has reported not only on the world of the migrants but also on that of the traffickers. She is the author of the project FarawaySyria, produced by the UNHCR in Libya, on the diaspora of Syrians in the MENA region. Her first documentary The Black Sheep, an inside look at daily life in post-revolutionary Libya, is currently in post-production.

She currently works also as a researcher on migration and security for private institutes.
