Nancy Porsia is a freelance journalist and producer focused on the Middle East and North Africa. Her work from Libya, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Tunisia has been published by national and international broadcasters such as RAI, SkyTG24, Il Fatto Quotidiano, L’Espresso, ARTE, ARD, The Guardian and Al Jazeera. The only Italian journalist based in Libya from the end of the Revolution until 2016, she has covered the civil war in the country. Specialized in migration, she has written about migrants and also about the traffickers. She is the author of the investigation into the commander of the Libyan Coast Guard Bija, published in December 2016. Since 2017 she has documented the migratory flow from the Horn of Africa, with a focus on Eritrea. Currently she also works as a consultant and researcher on migration and security for universities and private institutes.
