Astrid Maier is a senior writer for ada, a new journalism brand in Germany (belonging to the Handelsblatt Media Group, Germany’s largest business publication) covering how technology is changing society and future businesses. Prior to this Astrid was an editor at WirtschaftsWoche, Germany’s leading business magazine, where she led the companies&markets desk and the innovation&digital desk. She is a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University. During her Fellowship year she explored how organisations can change their cultures, increase diversity and spur innovation. After leaving Stanford, Astrid co-founded Dverse Media, a non-profit, that aims at increasing innovation and diversity in German newsrooms. She teaches Design Thinking to journalism students in Hamburg and is on the advisory board of the Hamburg Media School Journalism Fellowship.
