Amalia De Simone

Amalia De Simone is an investigative reporter for She also contributes to RAI, Reuters and Radio Siani. She has conducted many investigations into the links between organised crime and the waste collection business in Southern Italy. For Current TV she produced Nella terra di Gomorra, a series of programmes on the garbage crisis in Naples. She has won many journalism awards, including the 2014 Cutuli Award for National Media.

She is co-author of Novantadue. L'anno che cambiò l'Italia (2012), DEM. Dizionario enciclopedico sulle mafie (2013) and L'Italia dei veleni (2013). Her latest book is MafiEuropa (2020).
