Ernst-Jan Pfauth is cofounder and CEO of De Correspondent, a Dutch journalism platform with 60,000 subscribers – who pay 60 euros per year – and a full-time staff of 45. It launched in 2013, after raising 1.7 million dollars with a world-record breaking crowdfunding campaign.
Previously Ernst-Jan was the Head of Digital at NRC Handelsblad, and editor in chief of The Next Web Blog. He's also an acclaimed bestselling author and columnist who has written two books on blogging and one about the burn-out society Dankboek (The Book of Thanks). In November 2017 Ernst-Jan moved from Amsterdam to New York with his family, to set up the global version of De Correspondent, called The Correspondent.
